5 DAY Coach Tour
“Relax as we take you into enchanting Rudesheim for free time. Located in the Rhine River gorge, Rudesheim is a picturesque winemaking town (most famous for its production of Asbach Brandy that has been in production since 1892). Complete with narrow cobblestone alleys and timber-framed taverns, Drosselgasse is Rudesheim’s main street and a stroll along here almost feels like you’ve stepped back in time. This afternoon, we take you to Wiesbaden, for the remainder of the day. In the 19th century the city was planned to be a place of well-being, luxury and beauty – and that’s exactly what it turned out to be! Today you can enjoy exploring the city’s grand architecture from neo-classical to Art Nouveau. Later this afternoon, we’ll return to the hotel where you can prepare for this evening’s New Year’s Eve festivities! Our evening meal will be followed by a magnificent firework display put on by our hosts – the Wagner family!”
In the small few hours at the start the day after the party at the hotel I proposed to my beautiful Princess and she has agreed to marry me at a date to be worked out in the future. After that we headed for bed.
Breakfast was at 0800hrs (UTC+1) and we set off at 0915hrs (UTC+1). The problem yesterday with the coach was hoses that channel the coolant around the engine of the coach split which is believed to be as a result of the temperature over night.
Had a wonderful day. We visited Wiesbaden and Rudesheim where we wandered around the shops and saw many things that we don’t see in the UK. Feet are sore and as I’m not used to walking my lower back is a little sore. I did manage to catch a ZZZZZ on the way back to the hotel where we had dinner at 1830hrs (UTC+1). The party to lead up to the New Year was a disappointment and I left at about 2300hrs (UTC+1). Found a movie on TV that is one of my favorites and I watched that to see the New Year in.
