DV Hotspots – Rethink — Again

Yet another re-think about my hotspots. First I am building a portable SuperSpot which I am also creating build details that will be available for all once the build is complete. Once the build is complete I will then proceed with my other hotspots and how they will play their role in my Amateur Radio Experience.

The SuperSpot will consist of one Raspberry Pi driving 3 or 4 MMDVM boards with one of those being a Duplex MMDVM board running DMR.

More details later when they become available.

Ubuntu Linux

It’s been 12 month since I installed Ubuntu on my netbook and I haven’t looked back. I still have a copy of windows 10 running as a virtual machine to program radios that I haven’t been able to find software to program then via Linux.

My netbook breathed it’s last breath a few month ago and I now have acquired 2 Dell laptop’s to replace the netbook. One is an i5 processor and the other is an i7. Both machines are very fast and I’m very happy with them.
