MMDVMHost – SUPERSPOT

I’m building a SUPERSPOT. This will be MMDVMHost based and will give me a dedicated process for each MMDVM board and mode I wish to use. I already have the MMDVM Boards for this project.

If you would like to build your own SUPERSPOT or just a hotspot of your own you can follow my instruction to achieve your goal. If you only have or only want to use one MMDVM board just follow the instructions by setting up ALL the modes you want for that board.

DV Hotspots – Rethink — Again

Yet another re-think about my hotspots. First I am building a portable SuperSpot which I am also creating build details that will be available for all once the build is complete. Once the build is complete I will work on how my other hotspots fit into my experience and what role in my Amateur Radio Experience they will play.

The SuperSpot will consist of one Raspberry Pi driving 3 or 4 MMDVM boards with one of those being a Duplex MMDVM board running DMR.

Linux

I have recently downloaded Raspbian X86_64 to learn to program basic thing on a Raspberry Pi. I installed it on my NETBOOK in DUAL-BOOT mode only to learn very quickly that to use it as the main OS it was very restrictive for what I wanted to do that wasn’t  related to Raspberry Pi stuff and so looked for something similar.

I then Downloaded Ubuntu 19.04 and installed in Dual-Boot mode replacing the Raspbian OS. Both Raspbian and Ubuntu are based on DEBIAN a leading Linux version.

If you would like to try it Raspbian, you can download it from the RASPBIAN website HERE

Or if you want to try Ubuntu, you can download it HERE

New Website – Update

Website complete. Now to work on the radio section of the system.

My ADS-B receiver is working. The antenna is made and the feed coax of acquired. All I need to do now is run the coax and mount the antenna. Put the receiver in its final working position and then that job is complete.

The receiver is running on a RPi 3B+. The OS for it is Raspbian and the website where you can download you copy is HERE

I will get to the antenna etc after I take a well-earned break on a Greek Island with the XYL that she has organised. This will be the second holiday I have taken in approximately 5 years.
